The Shannon Leadership Institute nurtures the creativity and vitality of community-serving leaders from all sectors. The program provides a structured, challenging, and supportive opportunity for experienced community leaders to clarify the purpose of their work and the core values they want that work to exemplify. The result that the Institute achieves is purposeful and effective leadership with a renewed commitment to community service.

Our Organization
The Institute was founded in 1992 under the aegis of the Minnesota Council of Foundations. James P. Shannon chaired the original board and Ronnie Brooks was the first Executive Director, working with the program until 2017.
Our Alumni
Over 1200 people have participated in the Shannon Leadership Institute since the program’s inception in 1992.
